A few words
At Key Biscayne Tennis Association (KBTA), we believe tennis is more than a sport — it’s a way to build confidence, discipline, and community.
Through a unique partnership with Mater Academy East Charter School, we’ve opened our courts to young players across Miami, making tennis accessible, inclusive, and fun for everyone.

At the Key Biscayne Tennis Association (KBTA), our mission goes beyond the court. We create opportunities for young players to learn discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence through the sport we love.
At the Key Biscayne Tennis Association (KBTA), we believe tennis isn’t just a sport — it’s a way to connect, grow, and build confidence. That’s why, for the past few years, KBTA has partnered with Mater Academy East Charter School to bring the joy of tennis to dozens of children across Miami, offering them a valuable opportunity to learn, play, and thrive.
The program began as an initiative by our coach Greg Levy, a former ATP player, who started teaching after-school lessons that quickly became a model for inclusion and enthusiasm. Today, thanks to the leadership of KBTA President Jon Garito and the dedication of our team, more than twenty children visit our courts each week, learning discipline, teamwork, and respect through the game of tennis.
Parents have shared incredible stories about how this program has boosted their children’s self-esteem and emotional well-being. “It’s more than a sport; it’s a life-changing experience,” said Melissa Brazil, mother of one of the students.
This community effort was recently featured in Islander News, which highlighted the positive social impact of the partnership and the mission of KBTA to make tennis accessible for everyone.

At the Key Biscayne Tennis Association (KBTA) courts, local players Jon Garito and Carlos Lopez recently won the men’s doubles title in a charity event that celebrated more than just tennis.
The fundraising tournament, organized by the new non-profit CollGoal, supports underprivileged Miami high school students by helping them apply to college, afford graduation expenses, and access mentorship opportunities.
“The real winners are the students who can now attend their graduation and pursue higher education,” said Garito, a past KBTA president.
The event united the community, with Juan Yuste, Marco Brasil, and other local sponsors donating time and services to make it a success.

International tennis meets business and culture this weekend in Key Biscayne.
1. The Key Biscayne Tennis Association (KBTA) will host one of the island’s largest tennis events this weekend — the 4th Annual Spain–U.S. Chamber Tennis Tournament, taking place on Saturday, March 15, at the KBTA courts on 6702 Crandon Blvd.
The tournament will feature over 60 players and more than 100 participants, competing in mixed doubles across beginner, intermediate, and advanced categories — each guaranteed at least two matches.
2. Organized in partnership with the Spain–U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the event connects business leaders from Spain, Latin America, and the United States through sport and community.
Spectators can enjoy Spanish cuisine by Rodilla, premium beer from Estrella Damm, and the chance to win a round-trip flight from Miami to Madrid courtesy of Iberia Airlines.
“It’s an exciting event that brings together cultures, competition, and connection,” said Jon Garito, President of KBTA. “We’re proud to welcome everyone to celebrate tennis and international friendship here in Key Biscayne.”
